During my final year of university, I conceptualised a show with 3 of my coursemates that would be made up of works in progress. I took on multiple roles including organiser, photographer, and curator. The show also featured my own original artwork.
Over a couple of months, I took the lead in organisation, contacted artists and DJs, and arranged a venue. On the day we worked with the artists showing to create an intentional layout. Despite being our first attempt at putting on an event, it was a success with the venue reaching full capacity.
Together with the other organisers of the show, I created a poster that would be put on Avalon Cafe’s social media as well as postered around New Cross. I focused on typography, layout and colours. Below I’ve included some of my initial concepts which I created alone and feature the photo and more minimal style and the final design created collaboratively which is in black and green and features the drawing by Luke Caplowe.
